When asked for his favorite quote, in true Berno fashion, he provided a South African-ism that he lives his life by. It goes: "Dit help nie om 'n hoender te druk om 'n eier te lê nie. Al wat jy kry, as jy hard genoeg druk, is 'n dooie hoender." But you're probably looking for an English translation too. Here goes: "It doesn't help you squeeze a chicken to lay an egg. All you get, if you squeeze hard enough, is a dead chicken."
