How We Built This - Section 4
Honestly, creating this site has taught us a lot

But here’s a quick list of less vague answers:

  • Atomic content is where it’s at. Instead of thinking about web content in templates or components, we’re moving towards abstracting content elements, which can then be broken into small bites and enriched with meta information. The goal is to create snippets of meaning that can clip together to make an on-the-fly customer experience.
  • Not all AI needs to be generative. AI became popular for its ability to create content, but we’ve also found it has great potential to translate and leverage user intent. With AI as a helper, small teams gain incredible power to personalize content.
  • We are now, more than ever, editors of effort. For all the rending of garments, Writers, Designers, and Builders shouldn’t worry. There is so much work to be done. That work will just be different than some of the things we’re used to. In the past, the first step was knowing to make something. Now, the opportunity is about having the wisdom to know what to make. In this new world, we work to orchestrate, listen, and sample to create meaning.
  • Personalization isn’t magic; it’s about being malleable. Our technology stack allows us the freedom to take bold swings at creating an experience and, of course, learn with customers. Now, once we know a bit about our audience's goals, we can create customized site versions with unique decision trees. And those audiences can scale from a single person interested in a project to an entire sector wanting to know about our category experience.

Today, we might have what looks like a finished website, but the journey is only just beginning.

With this launch, we are starting to learn in the market every day, and are looking forward to making a million minor updates. And that’s kind of the point.
