Notional copy allows us to support content-always thinking while creating web experiences.
Wireframes are tricky to present. The naked architecture, interaction, and information flow they show are just difficult for some people to follow. When you add rough content to the bare frames, you add context and increase the chance for communication.
Essentially, Notional Copy is placeholder text that’s not too placeholder-y but also not final. It’s a nice middle ground that, when included in wireframes, helps us and our clients get a clearer picture of where we’re going faster and more easily without distracting us from thinking about the flow and function of a site overall.
